I saw last month that ipsy was starting a refreshments subscription which allows you to purchase things like a razor, body wash, lotions, and more. I ordered the maximum allowed for my subscription.
I got cleansing face wipes, hand cream, body lotion, body wash, and a razor.
I was happy with most of the products but I want to rate and share how each product works individually.
I received this free for signing up for refreshments on ipsy. I shave almost everywhere and needed a razor that could smoothly do the job. I’ve had all types of razors from the store and they all cut me.
I was so impressed with this razor. I’m hooked. It glided along my skin which was from the help of the shave cream and the razor itself.
The razor glides along any surface of the body and removes hair without harm. I have no razor bumps either.
You might be thinking, well you will need to change the blade a lot to keep it working nicely but ipsy has you covered for that. They provide two razor blades a month for $5!
My rating for this product is a 5 out of 5. I will continue to purchase these in the future. It’s well worth the $5.
When I got the refreshments package I was super pumped about the face wipes. But quickly after ripping open the package and trying the wipe I was super disappointed. 😞 I could not stand the smell. I also felt like the wipes didn’t have enough power to them. I have another brand that I love to use from Honey Pot Company and the Refreshments didn’t even come close to being the same.
I give the wipes a 2 out of 5 because I won’t be using them again. Sadly not a fan.
The Luscious Hand Cream from the refreshments line was awesome. I loved how thick it was when it came out. The smell of lemon was intense and great! There is not shine to it like the Vanilla Vibes but it definitely does the job for all day moisture!
I would say this hand cream is a 4.5 out of 5. If only it had a sparkle 😅
Refreshments Velvety Body Cream was great. I was happy with the lotion consistency and the feeling on my skin. I feel nice and smooth all over! And the lemon scent is strong and good!
I would say this body lotion is a 4 out of 5. There is nothing special about it. It’s just regular body lotion that smells great and feels good but I get that from a lot of body creams. I will probably stick to this to match the smells when I use the other refreshment products.
When you match the Refreshments Pillowy Shave Cream with the razor it creates the smoothest skin ever! The areas of my skin were super soft and not dry from shaving. And the shave was clean.
The Shave Cream gets a 5 out of 5. I have tried other brands in the past and gave up on Shave creams but now I found one that I really like. I’m also happy I don’t have to leave my house to use this product.
Refreshments Pearly Body Wash smelled good. What I didn’t care much for was the lack of suds. I used it to try and do a bubble bath but it didn’t work well. I also washed my body using a bath scrunchy and it didn’t have much suds using it that way.
I would say this body wash is a 3.5 out of 5 because it didn’t produce suds and it wasn’t the strong smell like I would have hoped. Over all its a basic body wash and nothing too special about it.
I was still pleased to receive all the products and continue to try them out (excluding the wipes) to see if I feel differently about them.
The refreshments line by ipsy is worth looking into if you have sensitive skin, allergies, or like products that are vegan.
I will continue to purchase a few of these products and I am going to replace the wipes with something different next month.
